Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of aeon-softworks.com and related services operated by Aeon Softworks (“Aeon,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), including study materials, interactive tools, account features, and product information (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, purchasing a product, joining a waitlist, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who may use the Service

You must be able to form a binding contract. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. The Service is intended for adults and older students preparing for professional exams; it is not directed to children under 13.

2. Accounts

Certain features require an account. Authentication may be provided by third-party identity services (including Clerk) and social login providers you choose (for example Google). You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and notify us promptly of unauthorized use at [email protected].

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, infringe others’ rights, attempt to bypass access controls, abuse the Service, or create legal or security risk.

3. Products and purchases

3.1 F.E. Prep

F.E. Prep is a paid digital study curriculum (lessons, practice, exams, handbook, flashcards, and related materials). Purchase is a one-time fee at the price displayed at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store full payment card numbers on our servers. Completing payment grants a personal license to access the curriculum through your account, subject to these Terms.

3.2 Aeon Studio and other software

Aeon Studio and other software may be described on the site while in development. Unless we expressly open purchases, such products are not for sale. Joining a waitlist does not charge your card and does not guarantee a release date, price, or features.

3.3 License (not a sale of the content itself)

Paid digital content is licensed, not sold. Subject to these Terms and timely payment, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license for your personal (or internal educational) use. You may not copy, scrape, resell, publicly redistribute, share account access, or use the materials to build a competing product, except as allowed by mandatory law.

3.4 Refunds

If F.E. Prep is not useful to you, email [email protected] within 7 days of purchase and we will refund the purchase price. After 7 days, sales are generally final except for technical failures that prevent access or charges made in error, which we will work in good faith to restore or refund. Chargebacks filed without first contacting us may result in suspension of access.

3.5 Taxes

Prices may be shown exclusive of applicable taxes. Where required, taxes may be collected at checkout by us or our payment processor based on your location and applicable law.

4. Waitlists and communications

If you join a waitlist or request product updates, you consent to receive email about availability, launch details, and related service messages. You may unsubscribe from marketing-style emails using the link in those messages or by contacting us. Transactional emails (for example, purchase receipts or account security notices) may still be sent when needed to operate the Service.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Bypass, disable, or interfere with paywalls, authentication, or other access controls;
• Share, sell, or transfer account credentials or unlocked access;
• Use automated means to scrape or download the curriculum at scale;
• Upload malware, attempt unauthorized access, or disrupt the Service;
• Use the Service for unlawful purposes or in violation of exam or institutional rules that apply to you.

6. Educational disclaimer

F.E. Prep and related tools are educational aids for exam preparation and learning. They are not a substitute for formal education, professional engineering judgment, licensed practice, or official exam materials. We do not guarantee any exam outcome, score, or licensure result. Always verify critical information against primary sources and applicable professional standards.

7. Intellectual property

The Service—including text, diagrams, software, branding, and compilation—is owned by Aeon Softworks or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license in Section 3, no rights are granted. Feedback you send may be used by us without obligation to you.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including hosting, authentication, and payments). Their terms and privacy practices apply to their processing. We are not responsible for third-party outages outside our reasonable control, but we will take commercially reasonable steps to restore access when feasible.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AEON SOFTWORKS AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

11. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Aeon Softworks against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of others’ rights, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes affecting paid access will be communicated by reasonable means (for example, site notice or email) when practicable. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including license restrictions, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Aeon Softworks principally operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence apply. Courts in that state will have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to those mandatory protections.
